Gold Loan Calculator

How It Works

The estimate is the live metal value of the gold (weight times purity times the live price per gram) times the lender valuation percent you enter. Lenders value gold below the full price and apply their own rules, so this is an estimate only.

How to Use

Enter the weight, unit, karat and the lender valuation percent, then press Calculate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a gold loan amount estimated?

The estimate is the metal value of the gold at the live price, times the lender valuation percent you enter.

Does the loan calculator use the live gold price?

Yes. It uses the live spot gold price from the ToolZana feed, with the last-updated time shown on the page.

Is the result the amount the lender will give?

No. It is an estimate only. Lenders apply their own valuation, purity testing, fees and loan terms.

What is a typical lender valuation percent?

Lenders commonly value gold at 70 to 80 percent of its metal value, but it varies. Enter the percent your lender quotes.

Does purity affect the loan amount?

Yes. Lower purity means less pure gold, so the metal value and the estimated loan amount are lower.
