Palworld Breeding Combos & Chart: Every Special Pair

A Palworld breeding combos chart is a shortcut through the game’s most confusing system. Instead of guessing at the Breeding Farm, you look up the exact parent pair for the Pal you want. Every row is verified against the 1.0 breeding dataset. If a pair is on this page, it works. If it is not here, the breeding formula makes it instead, or it cannot be bred at all.

How breeding actually works: special combos first, then the formula

Every Pal species has a hidden number called breeding power. The lower the number, the rarer and stronger the Pal: Astralym sits at 10 and Chikipi at 3080. When two Pals breed, the game follows two steps in a strict order. First, it checks the special-combination table. If the parent pair matches a row, that child is produced and the formula is never consulted. There are 164 special-combo rows in the 1.0 data: 136 cross-species pairs and 28 breeds-true self-pairs. A listed pair always works.

Second, if the pair is not in the special table, the game runs the formula. It averages the two parents’ breeding powers — floor((parent 1 + parent 2 + 1) / 2) — and the child is the closest Pal in the 183-entry formula pool. Only the 183 Pals in the formula pool can be produced this way, and 116 Pals are special-only, meaning they never come out of the formula at all. Many can still be caught in the wild or bred through this chart, but no formula pairing will ever hatch one.

How to read this Palworld breeding combos chart

Reading a Palworld breeding combos chart is simple once you know the three rules behind it. First, read each row left to right: Parent A plus Parent B produces the Child, in either order. Second, special combinations are checked before the formula, so a listed pair always produces the listed child. Third, gender does not matter for any pair in this chart except one: the Katress and Wixen pair, the only gender-dependent combination in the game.

That pair is worth spelling out. A male Katress bred with a female Wixen hatches Wixen Noct. A female Katress bred with a male Wixen hatches Katress Ignis. Every other special combo is unordered. The chart is grouped for quick lookup: the most-wanted powerful Pals first, then the popular elemental variants, then the Terraria collab Pals. Variant suffixes: Lux light, Noct dark, Ignis fire, Aqua water, Cryst ice, Terra ground, Botan grass.

The Palworld breeding combos chart

Every row below is a verified special combination from the Palworld 1.0 dataset (data updated 14 July 2026, palcalc v26). There are 36 rows: the 33 most-wanted palworld breeding combinations plus three Terraria collab pairs. If the Pal you want is not listed here, it is made by the formula or is a breeds-true Pal.

Most-wanted Pals

Parent A Parent B Child
Relaxaurus Sparkit Relaxaurus Lux
Frostallion Helzephyr Frostallion Noct
Incineram Maraith Incineram Noct
Mossanda Grizzbolt Mossanda Lux
Dinossom Rayhound Dinossom Lux
Kingpaca Reindrix Kingpaca Cryst
Lyleen Menasting Lyleen Noct
Jormuntide Blazehowl Jormuntide Ignis
Suzaku Jormuntide Suzaku Aqua
Faleris Jormuntide Faleris Aqua

Jormuntide appears three times — with Blazehowl, Suzaku and Faleris — unlocking three of the most sought-after variant Pals in the game. Frostallion Noct is the other headline: Frostallion is breeds-true, so this combo is the only breeding route to its dark variant.

Elemental variants

Parent A Parent B Child
Mau Pengullet Mau Cryst
Vanwyrm Foxcicle Vanwyrm Cryst
Eikthyrdeer Hangyu Eikthyrdeer Terra
Elphidran Surfent Elphidran Aqua
Pyrin Katress Pyrin Noct
Mammorest Wumpo Mammorest Cryst
Jolthog Pengullet Jolthog Cryst
Leezpunk Flambelle Leezpunk Ignis
Blazehowl Felbat Blazehowl Noct
Bushi Sootseer Bushi Noct
Chillet Arsox Chillet Ignis
Quivern Lullu Quivern Botan
Helzephyr Beakon Helzephyr Lux
Menasting Knocklem Menasting Terra
Foxparks Foxcicle Foxparks Cryst
Dazzi Omascul Dazzi Noct
Cryolinx Dazemu Cryolinx Terra
Fenglope Azurmane Fenglope Lux
Caprity Tarantriss Caprity Noct
Loupmoon Sweepa Loupmoon Cryst
Ribbuny Bristla Ribbuny Botan
Warsect Digtoise Warsect Terra
Kitsun Nyafia Kitsun Noct

Notice which parents repeat: Foxcicle, Pengullet and Flambelle each appear in more than one row. When planning which Pals to catch first, the ones in several rows give you the most combinations per breeding slot. The full list of 136 cross-species special combinations is far longer than this chart — run a reverse lookup on the Palworld Breeding Calculator if your target is not here.

Terraria collab combos

The Terraria collab Pals are a chart inside the chart. All eleven — the six slimes, two bats, Eye of Cthulhu, Demon Eye and Enchanted Sword — share a breeding power of 3100, the highest in the game. Without the special-combination table, the formula could never produce any of them. Instead, every pair among the eleven is a special combo — 55 pairs in total — and the child is usually the rarer or stronger of the two parents.

Parent A Parent B Child
Green Slime Cave Bat Rainbow Slime
Purple Slime Cave Bat Illuminant Bat
Eye of Cthulhu Demon Eye Eye of Cthulhu

Those three rows show the pattern: the higher-tier result usually wins, and the Eye of Cthulhu always beats the Demon Eye. Green Slime and Cave Bat are also breeds-true. The full 55-pair Terraria table is built into the Palworld Breeding Calculator.

Special-only Pals: the ones no chart formula can make

The most common breeding disappointment is pairing two strong Pals and hatching something ordinary. Usually the cause is simple: the Pal you wanted is special-only, and the pair you chose was not its special combination. Jetragon is the classic example. It has a breeding power of 70 — one of the lowest in the game — so players assume some pair of rare Pals must average out to it. It does not work that way. Jetragon never comes out of the formula. Get one by catching it in the wild or breeding two Jetragons — Jetragon is breeds-true.

The breeds-true rule covers 28 Pals in the 1.0 data. Pair one with its own species and you get itself; pair it with anything else and the formula runs as normal — it just can never be the child of a mixed pair. Of those 28, Panthalus and Astralym cannot enter a Breeding Farm at all, and Relaxaurus Lux and Mossanda Lux also have cross-species combinations in the chart above. That leaves 24 farm-eligible Pals that only ever hatch themselves: Frostallion, Paladius, Necromus, Lyleen, Faleris, Grizzbolt, Orserk, Shadowbeak, Bellanoir Libero, Blazamut Ryu, Mimog, Selyne, Xenovader, Xenogard, Xenolord, Bastigor, Hartalis, Shaolong, Dandilord, Silvance, Neptilius and the Terraria Pals Green Slime and Cave Bat. If your target is on that list, do not waste cake on mixed pairs — catch it, or breed two of the same species. The other 116 special-only Pals can only be bred through their one listed combination — Frostallion Noct, Relaxaurus Lux and Incineram Noct are all in this group.

How to reverse-lookup any Pal: find every combo for your target

A chart can only list the most popular palworld breeding combinations. A reverse lookup lists every parent pair for the Pal you want. That is what the Palworld Breeding Calculator does — select a target Pal and it shows every combination, running the same 1.0 dataset. It answers the real breeding question: not “what does this pair make?” but “what do I need to catch to make this Pal?”

Anubis is the best example of why a reverse lookup beats a chart. Running the 1.0 dataset through the breeding engine gives 234 parent combinations for Anubis, including a handful of same-species pairs. That count is computed by the ToolZana engine from the dataset, not quoted from another guide. Counts can differ by a few pairs between sources — the raw dataset lists 227 for Anubis — because of dataset-version differences.

The same reverse lookup exposes stale data. Many older guides still list Anubis with a breeding power of 570 — the pre-1.0 value. In 1.0 it changed to 480, and every source built on the current dataset agrees. A chart built on 570 gives wrong children for dozens of pairs. If a guide still shows 570 for Anubis, treat it as suspect and check the pair on the Palworld Breeding Calculator instead. For the full mechanics, see the Palworld Breeding Guide.

Common mistakes when using a breeding chart

First, trusting a stale chart. The 1.0 update changed breeding powers, added Pals and reshuffled combinations, so any pre-update chart is wrong in places that are hard to spot. The Anubis 570-to-480 change is the best-known example; Penking plus Bushi now hatches Sibelyx, which older guides list differently. Check the data date on any chart you use — this article uses the 1.0 dataset updated 14 July 2026.

Second, ignoring the special-first rule. Players sometimes work out the formula average for a pair, find it points at the Pal they want, and assume the pair will work — then hatch the special-combo child instead. The formula only runs when the pair is not in the special table, so a listed pair always beats the maths. The reverse mistake is just as common: assuming a pair will produce a special-only Pal because the average looks right.

Third, the Katress and Wixen gender pair — the only gender-dependent combination in the game. Female Katress plus male Wixen gives Katress Ignis; male Katress plus female Wixen gives Wixen Noct. If you hatched the wrong one, just swap which parent is male and which is female. Fourth, expecting Jetragon, Frostallion, Paladius or Blazamut Ryu from the formula: these breeds-true legendaries never come out of a mixed pair. And fifth, the practical one — breeding needs cake in the Breeding Farm’s chest, and the egg takes time to hatch. A perfect chart still produces nothing without cake. Our step-by-step Palworld Breeding Calculator Guide walks through the whole process, from picking a pair to hatching the egg.

Used properly, a palworld breeding chart turns breeding from guesswork into a shopping list. Start from the chart above, use the Palworld Breeding Calculator for anything it does not list, and check the data version before trusting any other source. For more, start at the ToolZana home page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Palworld breeding chart?

A Palworld breeding chart lists the game’s fixed special combinations: Parent A plus Parent B produces a specific Child. Some Pals can only be bred through these pairs — the formula never produces them.

Can I breed Orserk in Palworld?

Only by pairing Orserk with Orserk — Orserk is a breeds-true Pal, so it never comes out of the breeding formula and no cross-species pair produces it. Catch your first Orserk in the wild, then breed two Orserks together for more.

Why won’t my pair make the Pal in the chart?

Three causes cover nearly every case: stale pre-1.0 data (Anubis changed from 570 to 480, so old pairs are wrong), the special-first rule (a listed pair always produces the listed child), and the Katress and Wixen pair, which is gender-dependent — the wrong genders hatch the other child.

How do I breed Anubis in Palworld?

Anubis has no special combination, so every one of its 234 parent pairs works through the formula. Verified pairs include Jetragon + Loomen, Selyne + Jormuntide and Blazamut + Astegon — and once you have one, Anubis + Anubis hatches another. Anubis has more parent combinations than any other Pal: the ToolZana engine computes 234 from the 1.0 dataset, while the raw dataset lists 227, so counts differ by a few pairs between sources.

Can I breed Jetragon in Palworld?

No. Jetragon is a breeds-true Pal, so it only ever hatches from two Jetragons and never comes out of the breeding formula. Catch it in the wild or breed two Jetragons together.

Does parent gender matter in Palworld breeding?

For all but one pair, no — every other special combination is unordered. The single exception is Katress plus Wixen: a male Katress with a female Wixen hatches Wixen Noct, while a female Katress with a male Wixen hatches Katress Ignis.

How do I breed Chillet Ignis, Lyleen Noct and Faleris Aqua?

All three are special combinations: Chillet + Arsox hatches Chillet Ignis, Lyleen + Menasting hatches Lyleen Noct, and Faleris + Jormuntide hatches Faleris Aqua. None of the three comes out of the breeding formula, so the listed pair is the only way to get each one.

Do Terraria Pals breed like normal Pals?

No. All eleven Terraria collab Pals share a breeding power of 3100 and sit outside the formula pool, so the formula can never produce them. Instead, every pair among the eleven is a special combination — 55 pairs in total.

How do I use the Palworld breeding combos chart to find every combo for one Pal?

Use a reverse lookup: pick the target Pal and the tool lists every parent pair that produces it. The Palworld Breeding Calculator on ToolZana does exactly this, running the 1.0 dataset — select Anubis, for example, and it lists all 234 combinations.

Are old Pal World breeding chart pages still accurate after the 1.0 update?

Many are not. The 1.0 update changed breeding powers — Anubis went from 570 to 480 — added new Pals, and reshuffled combinations, so a pre-1.0 chart gives wrong children for dozens of pairs. Any chart still showing 570 for Anubis is using stale data.
